Boilerplate
PIECES is a curated marketplace for limited-edition fine art prints, built around verified provenance, transparent pricing, and protected transactions. Founded in 2026 in New York City by Kyle McGowan, the platform launches as an iOS app in summer 2026, with a long-term build toward the data and trust infrastructure underneath the marketplace — comparable-sales records, a price index for editioned work, and authentication that travels with the print.
Every listing is reviewed before it goes live. Every seller passes Stripe identity verification. Every transaction is covered by a five-day post-delivery inspection window. The commission is 8% flat, applied uniformly, and new sellers receive their first 3 sales commission-free. PIECES sits in the gap between galleries (where the relationship is the trust signal but the pricing is not public) and generic marketplaces (where the listing barrier is low but the verification is light).

Founder, PIECES
Kyle McGowan founded PIECES in 2026. His background is in banking; he is not a technologist by training, and not a curator by training. He is a collector who looked at the editioned-prints market and saw the same opaque-pricing-and-uneven-trust problem that other collectibles markets had already solved — and built PIECES as the marketplace and data layer that closes that gap for editioned fine art.
PIECES is solo-founded. The team will grow as the marketplace does; for now, every product decision is traceable to a single perspective.

Usage guidance
- Use the wordmark for headlines, mastheads, and contexts where the full PIECES name should read at a glance.
- Use the icon mark for square avatars, app tiles, social-profile pictures, and contexts under 64px where the wordmark would be illegible.
- Do not recolor the wordmark — the PIECE-in-dark and S-in-gold treatment is the brand mark. Use the on-dark variant when placing on dark backgrounds rather than inverting colors locally.
- Do not stretch, skew, rotate, or add effects (drop shadows, outlines, glows). Both marks are designed to read flat.
- Maintain clear space around either mark equal to the height of the icon's gold inner border at the size the mark is being used.
